    • Our March First Friday Kindness Project will be held on March 3, 2017.  This is our annual FOOD DRIVE to support District 5 Foundation's Snack Pack Program.  This program provides weekend snack packs to students whose families need assistance with nutrition over the weekend. 
      Each grade level is being asked to bring specific items that go into the snack packs.  
      Items requested by grade level are:
      KINDERGARTEN:  Juice boxes/packets OR Single-Serve packets of instant grits or oatmeal
      FIRST GRADE:  Single-serve fruit cups OR Slim Jims OR Vienna Sausage
      SECOND GRADE:  Single-serve packets of fruit snacks OR Granola Bars
      THIRD GRADE:  MICROWAVABLE single-serve macaroni & cheese, ravioli, spaghettios, etc. OR single-serve cereal
      FOURTH GRADE:  Ramen Noodles/Cup O Noodles OR packets of crackers (Lance-type crackers, 4-6 to a packet)

       Parents of rising 5th graders be sure to mark your calendars for the following dates.

      April 17 - Core Content Area Placement forms distributed to students

      Important Information from Chapin Transportation:
      A letter from Chapin Transportation can be found in your child’s Thursday folder. Please be sure to note the the changes in notification for non-registered students to accompany a friend on the bus and changes in drop off or pick up locations for registered students. Parents must contact the Transportation Office 24 hours in advance to receive permission for these changes. A note to the school or the bus driver will not be accepted.       Second graders will be performing at at Feb. 28th PTO Meeting. Students will meet in the gym at 6:45 dressed in jeans and either an LMES shirt or a blue shirt. The program will last approximately 30 minutes. Mark your calendar! Third graders will be performing at the March 14th PTO meeting.

       Kindergarten Registration for the 2017-2018 school year is now open. If your child will be 5 on or before Sept.1, 2017, you may now register your child for kindergarten.

      Lunch Visitation: Guests may come any day to join us for lunch. We do ask that you let the classroom teacher know that you will be coming for lunch so that we can ensure that there is enough seating and food. Remember to bring the correct change for purchase of lunch.

      Please note the following buses are locked out:

      LMES/CIS AM Routes: #10, 15, 20 & 22

      LMES/CIS PM Routes: #10, 13, 15, 19, 20, 21 & 22

      A "locked out bus" means the bus is overcrowded. Only students assigned to the bus will be allowed to ride. Friends should not be invited to ride the bus who are not already assigned to that bus without prior approval from Chapin Transportation.
