Mrs. Michaela Easterling
My name is Michaela Easterling and I teach 6th grade Honors and CP English here at CIS. I’ve been married to my husband Jack for 16 years and we have two girls— Savannah (10th grade) and Sophie Jane (2nd grade). We also have a black lab named Luna and a malshipoo named Frapps. My family loves all things music!
I receive my Associates of Arts degree from Midlands Technical College and my Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College (Home of the Fighting Koalas)! I’ve been teaching at CIS since it first opened. Prior to that I taught fifth grade next door at CES.
Sixth grade is a year of transition, as we work to prepare them for middle and high school. Your student will balance multiple classes taught by multiple teachers. I work very hard to teach my students to be responsible and accountable for their own work. Therefore, I challenge them to take action and seek resources when they need help. I encourage them to always do their best and to meet all deadlines. One of the ways we can partner to support them is by giving them opportunities to learn to do so, and then hold them accountable to follow through.
The best way to get in touch with me is via email. Thank you for being an integral part of your child’s success here at CIS. It’s going to be a fantastic year!
