    Degrees and Certifications:

    Mrs. Katie Manning

My name is Katie Manning, and this is my second year as part of the Chapin Middle School family!  I have been teaching Social Studies and/or ESOL for fourteen years.  I love teaching and history, and I hope that I can help my students make connections between the events of the past and what is happening in the world every day.

I am a native of East Tennessee and am an avid University of Tennessee fan!  I received my undergraduate in history and secondary education from Samford University in Birmingham, AL.  I earned a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and ESOL from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN, and an Educational Specialist degree in Leadership and Administration from Lincoln-Memorial University in Harrogate, TN.  I am also a National Board Certified Teacher.

My family is my joy!  My wonderful husband, Eric, and I have two adorable little boys, William (6.5) and Henry (5), and two dogs, Rocky and Olivia.  In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time on our boat, and watching sports of all varieties!
