About Mr. Langley

Hello! My name is Ashlon Langley and I have been involved in media production and education for over 15 years. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies in 2003, and a Master of Media Arts graduate degree in 2005, both from the University of South Carolina. I started working in independent production while still an undergraduate and upon the completion of my master's degree, I began teaching media production courses at the University of South Carolina. In 2006, as part of the inaugural South Carolina Production Fund, I wrote and directed my first feature film. Also in 2006, I joined the production staff at South Carolina Educational Television and spent the next five years working in educational and public media. In 2011, I worked with the University of South Carolina's Media Services department as a studio classroom director before joining the Center for Advanced Technical Studies as the school's Media Technology instructor.

Our program is a comprehensive study of visual and aural media theory and production. My students and I explore the ideas and concepts as well as the practice of creating media for film, radio, television, and video. Students who enroll in the Media Technology Program can expect to gain a fundamental knowledge base and a valuable skill set for further study and a possible career in the media industry!

Feel free to get in touch with me if you have questions or comments about the Media Technology program at the Center for Advanced Technical Studies. My contact information is listed below.
