Mrs. Erika Sánchez

My name is Erika Sánchez. This is my fourth year teaching Spanish at School District Five and my first year at Spring Hill High School!

My family and I moved to South Carolina four summers ago, and we love it here! I have lived in various states and countries including New York, Texas, Maryland, Indiana, Missouri, Mexico, Spain and Germany.  Throughout my life, Spanish has opened many doors for me professionally and personally, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help students see themselves as bilingual learners in real world contexts (e.g. professions, businesses, schools, communities).

I earned my degree from Baylor University, and I also studied at ITESM (el Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey) in Monterrey, Mexico.  Prior to teaching, I worked in international business for 12 years before staying home with my children.  My husband and I have four biological children ages 8-15, and we are a licensed foster family!

My goal and joy as an educator is to connect students with others through building proficiency and a love for Spanish languages and cultures around the world!
