Mrs. Emily Waters

My name is Emily Waters and I am 1 of the 5 teachers on the 2nd grade team at Seven Oaks Elementary Media Magnet.

I'm a two-time graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education where I completed a year long internship in first grade. During that year I realized how important reading is, so I returned to Winthrop to earn my Master's degree in Literacy. After that, my husband, Adam, and I spent three years in Upstate South Carolina, where I taught first grade. We are both Dutch Fork High School graduates and moved back to Columbia in 2018, where I started my journey at SOESMM in second grade. I am looking forward to working with you and our community to help your child reach his/her full potential. 

When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time outdoors. I love hiking, swimming, playing sports,  bird watching, and trying to paint!
