Educate, Empower, Encourage
Guidance Programs at BES
Star Student: A school program for grades K-2 that recognizes a student of the week within each classroom. Students are celebrated and his or her name is published in our BEAR Bulletin newsletter.
Leaders in Training or "LIT" Club: A leadership program for our 5th grade students. Students can choose to help out in classrooms, related areas, guidance, media center, or safety patrol. Students fill out an application, are trained and then matched with a teacher or staff member. They work at a job in the morning, recess, or afternoon during the school week. The goal is to guide students into making good decisions, and learn to be dependable. Leadership roles enable students to experience working with a younger student, helping out in classrooms; putting papers in cubbies, cutting out shapes, sharpening pencils, or working with a team.
Snack Pack Program: Our district along with Bethlehem Luthern Church helps our select students in need receive a bag each week with some extra food and snacks to help their family over the weekend.
Food Drive: Each November we hold our annual Carolina versus Clemson Food Drive. We donate this food to our local snack pack provider. It goes right back to helping our students here at BES. May the best team win!
Bear Hugs for the Holidays: Our winter gift program helps select BES families in need of a little support during the holiday season.
