Denise Williams- Reading Interventionist
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page! I am a Reading Interventionist at Oak Pointe Elementary. I have been teaching for 24 years. I started my career in first grade and loved it so much! Through my first grade experience, I learned how much I enjoyed teaching children how to read. After 17 years in the classroom, I took a leap of faith and became an interventionist! Since reading is my most favorite thing to teach, it only seemed right to get to teach it all day long! I truly believe the old phrase- do something you love and you will never work a day in your life!
I attended Lander University and received my bachelors degree in early and elementary education. After beginning my teaching career, I went back to school to work on my Master's degree. In 2011, I received a Master's degree in Language and Literacy from USC. In 2019, I became a National Board certified teacher in language and literacy as well.
At home I like to spend time with my family. My husband and I have two children and we love spending time with them. Carson is eighteen years old and is attending Converse University for the first time this year. He is very excited about beginning his college career playing soccer for the university. Our daughter, Kate, is fourteen years old and beginning a new adventure as well. She is a freshman at Dutch Fork High School. Our family loves to have movie nights, ride bikes and spend time at Edisto Beach. Both of our children love the game of soccer and we spend a majority of our free time on the fields. We are very busy, like most of you!
Thanks again for visiting my page! Please let me know, if there is any way I can help you!
