Degrees and Certifications:

Maddy Thiemann

Coach Thiemann is starting her fifth year teaching, and celebrating her second year at Dutch Fork High School! Growing up in Terre Haute, Indiana, Thiemann moved to South Carolina to attend Columbia College to study dance. While at CC, she completed observations and field experiences in Richland 1 and 2 schools, in addition to serving as the President of the Columbia College chapter of the National Dance Education Organization, which offered Day of Dance and various master classes for K-12 students on the college's campus. With the honors program, she co-presented Dance Master Classes in New Orleans and in Denver. Once graduated from Columbia College as a Dance Studies and Arts Management major, she jumped into teaching soon after. She's been teaching dance for 8 years in the private studio sector, but is excited to have made her way into public schools. Once landing in District Five, she took on the coaching opportunity with the DFMS Dazzlers Dance Team for three years, and will continue to assist while she starts a new season with the DFHS Dazzlers Dance Team. The DFHS Dazzlers can be seen at all Varsity Football games, most Varsity Basketball games, school pep rallies, all DFHS Dance Program performances, and various community projects.

A note from the Coach:

I firmly believe that all students should have the opportunity to partake in the joy of dance. While Dazzlers is an audition only team and class, all are welcome in the dance program classes--no experience required. All I ask for is an open mind, a playful imagination, and a student's best effort so that our class can learn and grow together!
