Mrs. Jeanne Edwards
I grew up as an army brat and have lived all over the world including Hawaii and Germany. By the time that I graduated from Irmo High School, I had attended eleven different schools. In 2004, I graduated from South Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in Learning Disabilities. In 2010 I became National Board Certified in Early Childhood through Young Adulthood/Exceptional Needs Specialist and earned a Master's Degree in Special Education from Walden University. I am currently the SC CEC Special Education Teacher of the Year and SC American Legions Teacher of the Year.
I currently live in Chapin, SC with my husband, Mickey, two daughters Anna (11) and Alyssa (13), and three cats (Yummy, Alley Kat, and Rover). This is my fourth year teaching in Lexington Richland School District 5 at Harbison West Elementary School, however, this is 17th year of teaching. Previously I taught in Newberry County School District in the self-contained and resource classroom settings at Newberry High School (9 Years) and Mid-Carolina High School (4 years). In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, boating on the lake, shopping, sewing, and photography. I am very excited to start this new experience and working with my students.
