• Assistant Principal Kristen Hill is a National Board Certified teacher with 26 years of experience in education, having served as a classroom teacher at many grade levels, interventionist, math coach, Response to Intervention specialist and reading coach.  Kristen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications, a Masters of Arts in Teaching, and a Masters in Educational Administration all from The University of South Carolina. Kristen is married and has two grown children and enjoys spending time with her family and relaxing at the beach.

Administrative Assistant Principal Carolyn Cavanaugh is so excited to be joining the Irmo Elementary School Family! She is in her thirteenth year as an educator. For the past six years, she has been the Magnet Cooperative Learning Coach here in District Five. While in the classroom, she taught third and fourth grades. Her academic background includes a BA in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina, an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Florida, a gifted and talented endorsement, and an M.Ed. in Education Administration from the University of South Carolina. (Go Gamecocks!) Carolyn and her husband have three children, one of whom will be joining the IES family as a student! Ms. Cavanaugh is looking forward to getting to know the students, faculty, staff, and families in this community. IES has a strong school culture with a reputation of excellence and she is truly honored to accept this role.
