How will participation in this magnet help students successfully matriculate to the next level of study?

Students at all levels are pushed and supported to do more than they think they can. Excellence is expected in the quality of their work and thinking. Gaining a global perspective, and digging deeply into project work that is centered around global issues such as social injustice, world economy, cultural diversity, etc. will increase students’ richness of ideas, creative power, problem-solving ability, and respect for others. Fully integrating global skills and knowledge into the curriculum is tied closely to environmental stewardship and social justice as students are challenged to grapple with the most complex problems facing the world such as climate change, structures of economic inequities, and international terrorism. Students are asked to probe how the people of the world are connected and what young people can do to make a difference.
