    2017 PSAT Information

As an eighth grade student in District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties, your child has the opportunity to take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.  The cost of the test is $16.00.  The PSAT is great practice for the Scolastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and will provide valuable feedback to your child on the types of skills that need improvement to prepare for the SAT and college.  Scores from the PSAT will be used for the South Carolina Junion Scholars Idenitification and Development Program.  Information regarding this program is included in the student packet.  If you would like your child to take the PSAT, please send your child's permission form along with a check, money order, or cash in the amount of $16.00 to his/her FIRST block teacher.  The deadline for registering to take the PSAT is September 29, 2017.  Check or money order is to be made payable to District Five of Lexington & Richland Counties.  In return, your child will receive a recept and the PSAT Student Guide.  The PSAT student Guide contains very important test taking tips and a practice test to help your child prepare for the test.  Prior to receiving the recipt and the PSAT Student Guide, your child may visit www.collegeboard.org for testing tips and other prepartion information.  For online practice test, visit https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10/practice.  If you have any questions or concerns, I can be reached at 722-5546 or at kmanning@lexrich5.org
