Mrs. Blythe Robertson

Hi! I am Blythe Robertson and it is a joy to be your child's 1st grade teacher. The 2020-2021 school year will be my 8th year teaching first grade at Nursery Road Elementary Arts Magnet School. I am very proud to be a NRES Champion!

I am originally from Augusta, Georgia. I attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2013. I moved to Columbia following graduation and I love all that Columbia has to offer. I received my Masters of Education in Language and Literacy from the University of South Carolina in 2017. I become a National Board Certified Teacher with an emphasis in Literacy in 2019. I am passionate about teaching reading and writing!

It is important for me to build a strong classroom community. I intentionally bulild relationships with my students and families and facilitate class and team builders for my students to form relationships with one another. My goal is for learning to be fun and purposeful for my students and for each student to feel valued and loved every single day. I can't wait to start learning and growing together this year!

When I am away from school, I enjoy spending time with my husband Zach and our family and friends. I also love exercising, reading, decorating our home, and going on walks with our black lab, May! I am especially excited about this year as we welcome our first child in October!

I am looking forward to a wonderful year in first grade with my sweet first grade students!
