Pursuing Excellence for Tomorrow's Challenges
Students are using gummy worms to exhibit their knowledge of the scientific method. They are required to make a hypothesis, test their theory, record and analyze their own data and construct explanations to confirm or refute their original thoughts.
Students are recording measurements such as length, width, height, volume and mass, and leaving their worm in water overnight. They will repeat the measurements after 24 hours in water to determine how being submerged affects the structure of the gummy worm.
