• High School Equivalency Testing Program

     

    Qualification Criteria for the Free High School Equivalency Testing Program:

     

    1. Student must be classified as a fundable student with 40 hours of attendance and an approved TABE Pre-test during the period of July 1, 2019 to May 1, 2020.
    2. Student must make an Educational Functioning Level gain within the Adult Education Assessment Policy guidelines during the period of July 1, 2019 to May 1, 2020.
    3. Students desiring to take the GED test must earn a minimum score of 148 on any subtest of the GED Ready practice test.  A score of 148 will entitle the student to a free subtest on the Official GED test in that same subject area.  One free subtest is allowed per subject area (Reading Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Social Studies, and Science.  No free retakes will be permitted within the same school year.
    4. Students desiring to take the TASC test must earn an appropriate score on the subtest of the TASC practice test. The following minimum practice test scores must be earned:   Math = 10, Reading = 12, Science = 10, Social Studies = 12, Writing = 17, plus 4 on Essay.  One free subtest is allowed per subject area (Language Arts-Reading, Language Arts-Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies).  No free retakes will be permitted within the same school year.
    5. Students participating in this initiative may not combine the GED and TASC test. If the student starts with the GED or TASC test, they must complete the entire battery of that particular test. Students may not take both the GED and TASC tests during the same school year and participate in this initiative.
