Pursuing Excellence for Tomorrow's Challenges
Arts programming at Irmo High School includes Visual & Performing Arts, Orchestra, Chorus and Bands of Irmo. Visual Arts educators serve well over eight hundred Visual Arts students in various stages of artistic exploration. The Bands of Irmo comprise the Marching Band; Performance Ensembles (Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble and Percussive Arts); and the Hi-Steppers. All are multiple award-winning programs. Irmo's Orchestra program contains three performing orchestras along with a variety of chamber ensembles. Top level students are invited to participate in a District Honors Symphonic Orchestra. Irmo High features a state of the art 600-seat performing arts center that not only enhances theatrical and musical productions by IHS students, but serves district and community events as well. Situated between the two main classroom buildings at the School, it will also provide a beautiful indoor conduit for travel between classes, with areas to rest, reflect or socialize.
