AP Biology is the equivalent of a year of introductory biology at a college or university. The course will cover topics including biochemistry, cells, transport mechanisms, enzymes and metabolism, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, genetics, molecular genetics and biotechnology, evolution, and ecology. Students will participate in numerous lab experiences to develop their manipulative, analytical, and written and oral presentation skills. At the end of the year, an extensive review will be provided to prepare students for the AP Biology exam.
