School District Five students earn top honors at National Beta Convention

IRMO –Lexington-Richland School District Five students earned top honors at the Senior National Beta Convention held in Orlando, Florida from June 22-26, 2025.

Competing against some of the nation’s most talented academic achievers, these students demonstrated excellence in their respective categories:

9th Grade Science

Mustafa Azhar (Dutch Fork High)- 1st Place

9th Grade Math

Maddox Nie (Dutch Fork High)- 3rd Place

11th Grade Math

Max Nie (Dutch Fork High)- 1st Place

12th Grade U.S. History

Jade Cameron (Dutch Fork High) – 10th Place

These honors reflect not only the students’ hard work and academic strength but also the commitment of Dutch Fork High School to fostering academic achievement and leadership through its active participation in the National Beta Club.

“It was an incredible experience to watch our students compete and succeed on a national level,” Dutch Fork High Beta Club sponsor Kelly Eckstrom said. “They represented Dutch Fork with pride, grace, and determination.”

The National Beta Club, one of the nation’s largest independent, non-profit youth organizations, promotes the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership. The annual convention brings together students from across the country to compete in academic and artistic contests and celebrate their shared commitment to excellence.
