School District Five students selected for honor and all-state choirs

IRMO – Several students from Lexington-Richland School District Five have been selected for the SC American Choral Directors Honor Choir and the SC Music Educators Association All State Choir.

The SC American Choral Directors Honor Choir weekend is in January at Francis Marion University.

School District Five students selected to participate include: Aishani Banerjee (Chapin Middle), Sydney Brunson (Chapin High), Anasia Bryant (Irmo High), Anna Kate Burrows (Chapin High), Cash Conroy (Chapin Middle), Jonas Dillon-Sauer (Irmo High), Sal Erwin (Irmo High), Mackenzie Gable (Chapin High), Sophie Johnson-Distefano (Irmo High), Prince Lloyd (Irmo High), Hunter Majka (Chapin High), Caroline Major (Chapin Middle), Abby Mazzei  (Irmo High), Cayden Mohr (Chapin Middle), John Milledge Moody (Irmo Middle) Elena Price (Chapin High), Javani Robinson (Irmo High), Jayden Samuels (Irmo High), Meadow Sapienza-Chaney (Irmo High), Sidney Shepard (Chapin High), Elijah Strole (Irmo High), Cherish Taylor (Irmo High), Kalei Tucker (Chapin Middle), and Christiana Valdez (Irmo High).

The SC Music Educators Association All State Choir weekend will take place at Winthrop University February 27-March 1, 2025.

School District Five students selected to participate include: Aishani Banerjee (Chapin Middle), Baylie Batchelor (Irmo High), Anasia Bryant (Irmo High), Elijah Drum (Chapin High), Mackenzie Gable (Chapin High), Kyle Houston (Dutch Fork High), Sophie Johnson-Distefano (Irmo High), Liana Joseph (Irmo High), Madi Miller (Chapin Middle), Jayden Samuels (Irmo High), Meadow Sapienza-Chaney (Irmo High), Sidney Shepard (Chapin High), Elijah Strole (Irmo High), Cherish Taylor (Irmo High), and Christiana Valdez (Irmo High).

“We commend these students and their teachers on this amazing accomplishment,” said School District Five Coordinator of Athletics, Visual & Performing Arts, and Physical Education Steven Puckett. “It takes a great level of skill, passion and dedication to be able to perform at this high level. Our music program is well established and continues to shine due to the commitment of our students, faculty and school district.
