School District Five students shine in South Carolina State Fair Art Competition

IRMO – Several Lexington-Richland School District Five students placed in the South Carolina State Fair Art contest. Students showcased their talents in several divisions including Two-Dimensional Art, Three-Dimensional Art and Photography. All exhibitors had to be residents of South Carolina and attending public, private or home school in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade.

“We have so many talented young people living in our community,” said School District Five Coordinator of Athletics, Physical Education, & Arts Steven Puckett. “It excites me to see them be recognized as creative artists. I am proud of their accomplishments and initiative to be involved with the Arts in our schools and the community.” 

Student art is displayed at the State Fair in the Cantey Building during the run of the fair October 9-October 20.
