Chapin High School Girls Soccer Team wins Class 5A Division II State Championship

IRMO – Chapin High School girls soccer team won the South Carolina High School League Class 5A Division II State Championship on May 23, 2026 at Memorial Stadium.

They experienced a 3-hour weather delay, but Chapin defeated Eastside High School 4-0 to earn its first state championship since 2016.

“We’ve been here in the final game three years in a row and came up short two years in a row losing to East Side last year,” Coach Chad Bridges said. “It is just an incredible feeling to earn this victory. Our word this year was faith and that faith kept us believing that we were good enough to be here and that faith could win us the state championship. I am just proud of the result and that our girls won a state championship. I am very humble and grateful for these girls and this team!”

Chapin High Principal Ed Davis added, “I’m so proud of the players and coaches! Their resilience and hard work has paid off. This is a tremendous accomplishment for our school and community! Go Eagles!”
