Harbison West Elementary School receives $5,000 donation from new Burlington Store

IRMO – Burlington Stores has donated $5,000 through its partnership with the national non-profit organization, AdoptAClassroom.org, in celebration of its new store now open in Columbia at 136 Harbison Blvd. Funds will be used towards school supplies to help ensure students at Harbison West Elementary Gifted and Talent Development Magnet have the learning materials and tools they need to succeed now and in the future.

A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org reached out to district and school administrators and helped to secure the donation. According to Principal Dr. Thomas Turner, the teachers will use the funds on a number of new classroom items.

“This generous gift from Burlington Stores and AdoptAClassroom.org is a wonderful example of what happens when communities come together to support education,” Harbison West Elementary School Principal Dr. Thomas Turner said. “By investing in our teachers and classrooms, they are helping create an environment where students can learn, grow, and reach their full potential. We are grateful for partners who share our commitment to student success.”

As part of Burlington’s holistic community giving approach of adding value to local communities, and in partnership with their national nonprofit partner AdoptAClassroom.org, they hope to help empower those in their local store communities to live better lives and build brighter futures. Each time Burlington opens a new

store, they celebrate by adopting and funding local classrooms in their new store community. Burlington is of the fastest growing national off-price retailers offering amazing deals on top- quality brands for the entire family and home.
