Irmo High School hosts hundreds during SCASC District 3 Rally

IRMO – Irmo High School welcomed over 700 students, advisors, and chaperones for the South Carolina Association of Student Councils (SCASC) District 3 Rally on Thursday, October 23, 2025. More than 20 schools across seven South Carolina counties attended.

This year’s rally, themed “The Magic of Leadership,” featured interactive workshops, leadership sessions, and activities designed to inspire students to make a difference in their schools and communities. District 3 includes schools from Edgefield, Aiken, Lexington, Barnwell, Calhoun, Saluda, and McCormick counties, though schools as far as Clover, SC, attended.

The rally gave Irmo High and District 3 Co-Chair Kennedy Hampton the chance to showcase what makes the community special. Catering was provided by Roy’s Grille, Ferraro’s, and Lil House of Pizza, and decorations were handcrafted by senior Drake Allen and Brianna Kratz, a parent of a former student council member.

“Hosting the first-ever District 3 Rally at Irmo High School International School for the Arts was truly an honor,” said Kennedy Hampton, Junior Class President and District 3 Co-Chair. “It was rewarding to bring student leaders together to celebrate leadership and showcase the heart of Irmo.”

Mr. Eric Coleman, Irmo Student Council Advisor praised Hampton’s leadership.

“I am extremely proud of Kennedy for dedicating so much of her time and energy to the District 3 Rally,” said Coleman. “Through her meticulous planning, attention to detail, and commitment to leading her peers, she effectively guided our council in hosting one of the largest student council events of the year.”

Sophomore Class President Kaya Brunson said the event was an educational experience she was grateful to be a part of.

“Being behind the scenes and actually hosting the rally was a whole new experience,” Brunson said. “It was stressful and overwhelming at times, but seeing it all come together made it so worth it. The workshops were meaningful, and it was amazing to show visiting schools how we celebrate Irmo pride.”

The SCASC District 3 Rally is an annual gathering that connects student leaders from across the region to share ideas, build connections, and strengthen leadership programs statewide.
