School District Five Magnet & Choice Application Window Closes at 12:00 pm (Noon) on January 28

IRMO – Lexington-Richland School District Five’s Magnet and Choice Application is underway and will close for the 2026-2027 school year on January 28, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.

An online application must be filled out for each student interested in a Magnet Program or School of Choice. The application can be found at lexrich5.novuschoice.com.  

Applicants have the option to select two choices and must rank order these choices. However, if the applicant is only interested in one selection, a second choice is not required. Applicants do not need to list their zoned school as a choice unless it is for a program within a school such as Montessori at H. E. Corley or STEM at Dutch Fork High School.

As families explore their educational options, School District Five encourages parents and students to learn more about its Magnet & Choice programs and take advantage of available resources before applying.

To help families make informed decisions and maximize the application process, it is recommended that families select a school based on their student’s interests and passions. Information about available Magnet & Choice programs in the district can be found at www.lexrich5.org/choice. Families can also schedule a school tour or attend an information night for further information by contacting the magnet school or program of interest. Upcoming information nights in January are listed on the website for reference. 

Lottery and Final selection notifications will be sent to families after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026. In your selection notification email, there will be a link to accept or decline your placement. The deadline to accept your spot is Tuesday, February 10, 2026 by 12:00 p.m./noon. If you choose to decline your placement offer and wish to remain in the waiting pool for your other choice, you will be contacted if a spot becomes available. At that time, you must accept or decline.
