Chapin High School student selected for Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall

IRMO – Ana Aun from Chapin High School has been selected for the Honors Performance Series by World Strides to perform in Carnegie Hall, February 7-11, 2024, in New York City, NY.

Ana submitted an audition for this honor earlier this Fall, and was selected to perform with students from across the US. Ana will travel to NYC for the event that will culminate in a concert in Carnegie Hall.

“This opportunity means the world to me, it has been my dream to pursue music since I was very young,” Aun said. “One of my lifetime goals since I've known about Carnegie Hall was to perform there, and I get to live my dream that I never thought I could.”

The Honors Performance Series welcomes rising 9th-12th grade musicians. Selected Finalists rehearse and perform under master conductors and have the opportunity to meet other like-minded musicians from around the world. Though much of the students' time is focused on performance preparation, the program also allows students to experience New York City's wonderful sights and performing arts scene.

“I am incredibly proud of Ana and her accomplishment of auditioning and being selected for this honor,” Chapin High School Choral Director Nicholas Shumate said. “Performing with this group is a great honor and I know that her family and community are extremely proud of her. She has worked very hard the last couple of years and I am very excited to watch her continued growth and success as she studies at USC next fall.”
