School District Five student athletes named 2024 Bridge Builder Excellence Award Nominees

IRMO –Two Lexington-Richland School District Five athletes were named 2024 Bridge Builder Excellence Award (BBEA) nominees.

Brady Albro (Chapin High School) and Dakota Jordan (Dutch Fork High School) were nominated based on their exceptional achievements throughout their academic year.

This award aims to recognize exceptional high school football student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence not only on the field but also in their academic pursuits and contributions to their communities.

“Dakota Jordan is the ultimate student athlete,” Dutch Fork High School Football Coach Tom Knotts said. “As Captain of the Dutch Fork football team, he was a true leader that always put team first. His outstanding leadership and effort propelled Dutch Fork to a hard earned back to back State Championship!”

The BBEA began in 2020 to recognize, celebrate and encourage excellence in football student athletes from the 2019-2020 academic year.  Over the course of four award cycles, the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame (SCFHOF) has received a total of 242 nominations, involving participation from 112 South Carolina High Schools.

The Top 10 finalists were named on March 26. Each statewide nominee will receive a certificate of recognition for their accomplishments, are are invited to participate in College and Decision Day at the statehouse on May 7, 2024, and invited to celebrate #BBEA24Day on May 22nd on their social media platforms.  The 2024 Bridge Builder Excellence Award is made possible by the generosity of The Sturgis Family, The Bostic Family, The Spinx Corporation, and Parham Smith and Archenhold.
