Mrs. Hope

 Welcome, my most amazing artist!

I miss seeing your faces and hearing your voices but most of all interacting with you as you create your amazing art! Doing studio-style art class has prepared you for this unexpected virtual learning time. Use those Studio habits for not only art but for all of your work! Engage & persist, Observe, Stretch & Explore, Develop Craft, Envision, Express, Understand Art Worlds, Reflect! Do your best to be a good family member and contribute to your household by helping out around the house, without being asked. Your parents have a lot going on so using your skills and remembering to be kind and helpful is really appreciated.

We are in this together and I am here for you via, e-mail, artsonia, or a phone call. We added a few resources for you so check them out if you want or use them to occupy some boring downtime. I like to utilize boredom as an imagination inspiration..doddle away!!

Stay in touch and KNOW that I love and miss you!!

Mrs. Hope AKA Your Favorite Figgy Friend :) heee

We are going to implement and practice the Studio Habits of Mind and Growth Mindset. It will be a wonderful year of learning and growing as an artist!

Creatively yours,

Dear LMES artists,

I miss you. It has been nice seeing a few of you in the grocery store. I hope that you will continue to draw and create art. You can create art using whatever you have at home including digital art sites listed on this page. I would love for you to share your art with me via email during this unexpected break.

I have taught Visual Art for many years in District Five. I have taught Visual Arts at Lake Murray Elementary for 8 years. I am a certified K-12 Visual Arts Teacher with 28+ years of work experience including middle and high school positions. I teach an integrated art curriculum that often incorporates other subjects into my art classroom especially language arts, social studies and math. To know about history is to know about art history since art often reflects what is happening in our lives.

I teach our students what artist's think about art. I show our students art created throughout different time periods. Students create art that is meaningful for them using the elements and
principles of design. We talk about talking about our art and the work of other artists.

Before my teaching career, I was a Graphic Designer and Illustrator for a national computer firm. My rich work history has allowed me a unique and rewarding experience. There is nothing better than sharing creative experiences with your child and seeing the discoveries in the art classroom. I love my job!
