Ms. Hope

 Welcome, my most amazing artist!

This year I will see all of our LMES artists, face to face for 2 days during your week for art. You will also have two other art teachers, Dr. Darnell from Chapin Elementary and/or Mrs. Francis from HE Corley, Mrs. Johnson from Dutch Fork Elementary.

This year the art studio won't be available but we will still learn the habits of an artist and use our creativity! It is in challenging times that our opportunities are great. This is the moment to really try something new and explore opportunities, persist in your goals, and to gain wisdom from others.

We can do this!

Much Love-

Ms. Hope and Figment

Dear LMES artists,

Please check back in August. I hope that you will continue to draw and create art over the summer. You can create art using whatever you have at home including digital art sites listed on this page.

About Me
I have taught Visual Art for many years in District Five. I have taught Visual Arts at Lake Murray Elementary for 8 years. I am a certified K-12 Visual Arts Teacher with 28+ years of work experience including middle and high school positions. I teach an integrated art curriculum that often incorporates other subjects into my art classroom especially language arts, social studies and math. To know about history is to know about art history since art often reflects what is happening in our lives.

I teach our students what artist's think about art. I show our students art created throughout different time periods. Students create art that is meaningful for them using the elements and
principles of design. We talk about talking about our art and the work of other artists.

Before my teaching career, I was a Graphic Designer and Illustrator for a national computer firm. My rich work history has allowed me a unique and rewarding experience. There is nothing better than sharing creative experiences with your child and seeing the discoveries in the art classroom. I love my job!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Leaphart
