My name is Anne Summers, and I am thrilled to be a 3rd grade teacher at Lake Murray Elementary School! This is my 8th year teaching 3rd grade, my 14th year at LMES, and my 23rd year as a teacher. My undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education, and my Masters Degree is in Special Education/Learning Disabilities, both from Clemson University.
I have completed my Masters Plus 30 in Literacy and am certified as a Literacy Teacher. I have also completed Reading Recovery Certification through Clemson University and am endorsed as a Gifted and Talented Teacher.
My husband, Mason, and I have been married for 24 years. We have a daughter, Caroline, a freshman Middle-Level Education Major at Clemson University, and a son, Jake, who is in 10th grade at Chapin High School. Go Tigers! Go Eagles!
When I am not at school, I love to spend time with my family hiking or biking, at the beach, and traveling to new and favorite places. I have always loved reading and enjoy sharing my passion for reading with my students. Reading and discussing novels with my students is one of my favorite things about teaching 3rd grade AGP. We have an amazing lineup of novel studies planned for this school year, and I truly can't wait to get started!
