Ms. Taylor

I would like to tell you a little about myself. I grew up in Greer, S.C. located in the upstate. I am a Newberry College graduate. I earned my Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Cambridge College in Boston, MA. What an experience!!  I have achieved 30 plus hours above my Masters Degree in literacy, technology, and best practices, mainly from Coastal Carolina and the College of Charleston. I'm proud to say that I earned National Board Certification in 2002 and renewed in 2011! Therefore, I am good until 2022. I am AGP and Language & Literacy endorsed.

I have three wonderful children.  Addison, my oldest, is 29 years old and graduated from Coastal Carolina. He lives in Myrtle Beach. Marquis, my middle child, attended Benedict College and currently works in Greenville. Miss Kelsey, my youngest, a CHS graduate, will be attending Midlands Tech. We have two cats and a dog. They keep me busy, young adult children and fur babies.

This is my 36th year of teaching, all in District Five. I taught at CES before there was a Lake Murray Elem. I was Teacher of the Year at CES years ago. In 04-05 I was selected Teacher of the Year for LMES and then chosen as District TOY. I was the first African American District TOY for District Five. I was also a  finalist for State Teacher of the Year. I LOVE my profession and I still strive to be the BEST educator that I can be! I enjoy learning something new each day. In my free time, I enjoy watching old movies, shopping, reading (I'm in two book clubs), and football (all levels). My favorite NFL Team is the Pittsburg Steelers!

If ever you have questions or concerns, PLEASE come to me first. Email, call, or send a note. Together, we are going to have an "Awesome" year.

Sincerely,

Ms. Taylor
