I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2006 with a degree in music education. After working one year in a general music classroom, I wanted to do more in education and felt compelled to obtain certification in Elementary Education to become a classroom teacher. It was the best decision I have ever made. I now have 13 years teaching experience and this is my 3rd year at Crossroads. I work very hard to build relationships with my students and their families. James Comer, a child psychologist and author, said it best: "No significant learning occurs without a significant relationship." In 2012, I returned to the University of South Carolina to work on a Master's in Educational Administration and received my diploma in 2014.
I have been a Gamecock fan all my life. When football season rolls around, I'm using dressed in garnet and black and ready to cheer our team to victory!
When not at school I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, or you can find me at the gym weight training.
