Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Amy Black

This is my 28th year teaching and my sixth year at IES! I am honored to be a part of this wonderful school family.  Kindergarten is a wonderful, exciting place filled with many adventures.

I received a Bachelor’s Degree in education from USC and a Master’s Degree from Lander University. I am a National Board Certified teacher with 30 hours above my Master’s Degree in reading and literacy.  I, like my students, am always learning. I believe that I must continue to build upon new ideas to assist my students to become lifelong, independent learners.

I have two boys, a junior at USC and a junior in high school.  I also have 3 furry friends, Sadie, Dusty, and Merlin.
