As a little girl, I dreamed of being a teacher. Many Saturdays were spent with my stuffed animals linedup on my bed while I instructed lessons using my small stand-up chalkboard. School was a place where I felt safe and my teachers made learning fun. After I left college, I chose a career at UPS and eventually went into a management position with this large corporation. I felt empty inside and 11 years later I realized I was not fulfilling my dream career. I took a leap of faith, went back to USC to complete my internship as a student teacher. Two months after graduating from college, I interviewed with D5 and here I am.
Learning and working with children has always been a passion of mine. My mother was a talented artist and I loved watching her create for hours at the time. As the current media arts teacher, I enjoy watching my students light-up while creating works of media arts.
During my spare time, I enjoy painting, watching USC football games, traveling on cruises, learning new things, and watching a good movie. I am married and have a stepson along with two precious Pekingeses.
This is my 25th year at Nursery Road Elementary School and I am so proud to be part of our Arts Magnet School!
