Mrs. Michaela Easterling
My name is Michaela Easterling and I will be a virtual teacher for FIVE this year! I am excited to be teaching fifth grade CIS students the content areas of English, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Virtual school is a new adventure for all of us so the key word is 'grace' this year. It will take time for students and teachers to navigate this new type of learning, but it will be an exciting process for all of us, and we will become a special family group. All of my students will be in the same class, like a homeroom, so I know we will all get to know each other very quickly.
Prior to the FIVE program, I taught 6th grade Honors and CP English at CIS. I have also taught 5th grade English and SS. I’ve been married to my husband Jack for 17 years and we have two girls— Savannah ) and Sophie Jane (3rd grade). We also have a black lab named Luna and a malshipoo named Frapps. My family loves all things music. I received my Associates of Arts degree from Midlands Technical College and my Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College (Home of the Fighting Koalas)! I’ve been teaching at CIS since the day it opened. Prior to that I taught fifth grade next door at CES.
The best way to get in touch with me is via email. If there is anything I can do to support your child, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you for being an integral part of your child’s success here at CIS.
