A word about me...
I was born and and grew up in the rural community of Deep Gap, N.C., an area that straddles the eastern continental divide. I graduated from Watauga High School in Boone, N.C. where I was a rather unremarkable orchestra student. I attended Appalachian State University where I majored in Philosophy. While at ASU, I met and married Sherrell Brown, who was an out-of-state student from West Columbia, and we have now been married for 36 years. Sherrell is currently the librarian at Nursery Road Elementary School.
I have been teaching high school math since 1986. Over the years I have taught General Math II, Algebra I Part 2, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Data Analysis, Introduction to Calculus, AP Calculus (AB & BC), IB Math (Studies, SL, and HL), Physics, and IB Theory of Knowledge. I taught at Irmo High School from '95 to '99, and I have been back at IHS since 2005. I have two children who attended Nursery Road, Irmo Middle, and Irmo High.

My current time for extra help is on Mondays and Thursdays after school. This may change from time to time, and I will alert students during class.
