Mr. Drew Walker

Welcome!  My name is Drew Walker and I was born under suspicious circumstances in the town of Columbia.  Following my graduation from Spring Valley High School and seven rejection letters from Hogwarts, I attended Winthrop University where, despite my best efforts to undermine myself, I received a bachelors degree in history and a masters in teaching.  I am now in my eighth year of teaching social studies here at Irmo and I can say that I have loved every single minute in my classroom.  As the self declared biggest nerd at our institution, I find true passion in the study of History and Geography.  My goal to make that passion take center stage in my teaching and hopefully have some of it become contagious.  I believe that every single student has genuine academic curiosity but that sometimes we have to work to find it.  I value and relish that search.  

In my spare time I enjoy reading, playing board games, and engaging in a whole host of nerdy hobbies.  I also cherish spending time with my beaufitul wife Ashley and our three cats.
