Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Sara Kimberlin

This is my fifteenth year at Chapin High School.  I am proud to be a Chapin Eagle and I love teaching here! Before coming here, I taught at Edisto High School in Cordova, SC, and was a graduate student instructor at the University of South Carolina and the University of Toledo.  I have also been an adjunct instructor at Midlands Technical College since 2003, teaching the college freshman English sequence consisting of English 101 and English 102.  I received both my bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education (2000) and my Master's of English (2002) from the University of Toledo, and have 30 additional credit hours in literature, composition, and rhetoric from the University of South Carolina.  I became a National Board Certified Teacher in November of 2009, and renewed my National Board Certification in November of 2018.  Additionally, I have been a College Board AP Reader for the AP English Language & Composition Exam since 2008, serving as a Table Leader since 2012.
