This year, I teach 3 different courses which are Honors Chemistry, Advanced Placement (AP) Chemistry, and Honors/ALA Physical Science.  I have also taught College Prep Chemistry and Chemistry II Forensics.

My educational background is science based.  I have a B.S. in Chemistry from Lander University and I have a M.S. in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina.  I have experience teaching as a T.A. at USC,  and I also taught at Newberry High School for 3 years prior to coming to Chapin High School.  I was Chapin High School's Teacher of the Year for the 2007-08 school year and I was a district finalist for District Teacher of the Year. I am certified in Gifted and Talented as well as Advanced Placement Chemistry.  I also have my National Board Certification.  I earned my Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning from the University of South Carolina in December 2015.

My website has lots of information for students and parents.  Class schedules that show dates of topics covered, assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects can be accessed.  Powerpoint presentations can also be accessed and printed prior to coming to class.  Class syllabi are also included as well as helpful Internet links.  To access the information, click on the class under the home page.  If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.  I also use Google Classroom.  Each student has a class code which they use to log-in to the site.  I can be reached through email at ltaylor@lexrich5.org.
