Mrs. Krista McMillon

Welcome to our class!

I am thrilled to be your teacher and know it is going to be a terrific year full of fun and learning. I have been teaching second grade for 9 years. This is my second year as an all-virtual teacher and I am so excited to be a part of what we are building as a FIVE community.

Parents, please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns. The best way to communnicate with me is through email at kmcmillo@lexrich5.org. Please look for notices and important dates to remember on our class newsletter and check the FIVE newsletter for additional information.

I grew up in Aiken, South Carolina. I graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging Science. I worked with two large corporations as a Packaging Engineer. I’ve lived in Orlando, FL; Florence, SC; and Indianapolis, IN. After my daughter Kennedy was born I decided to travel the professional baseball circuit with my husband, Billy. That took our family to Detroit, MI, and Oakland, CA, for a few years. Of course we spend some part of every March down in Florida watching Boston Red Sox Spring Training games.

I have two children, one at Clemson and one in high school. I also have a boxer named Charlie. In my free time I like doing yoga and taking Charlie for long walks and I am learning to play tennis. I like to ride my bike and watch movies. I love to play video games with my kids, and this summer my son taught me to play Magic the Gathering. Reading a great book is always going to be my favorite hobby. My favorites are The Talisman by Stephen King, The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien, the Harry Potter series (yes, the whole thing), and Persuasion by Jane Austen.

I am very excited to begin a new year with you and your family. We have a lot to learn in second grade. We work hard and have fun. We try, fail, and try again and become stronger for it. It's going to be an exciting journey!

Love,

Mrs. McMillon
