Mrs. Felicia A. Kopelman

My name is Felicia Ann Kopelman and I have been teaching Social Studies in Lexington Richland Five middle schools since 2010.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and International Affairs from Florida State University and a juris doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law.  After practicing law for eleven years, I decided to combine my love for history and young adults and enter the classroom.  I taught 8th Grade South Carolina History for three years at Dutch Fork Middle School and I am currently in my sixth year teaching 7th Grade World History at Chapin Middle School.

I hold a certification in Social Studies for the middle and secondary levels and I am considered "Highly Qualified" by the State of South Carolina in the areas of Government, History, and Social Studies.  I also hold a "Gifted and Talented" endorsement and I am a trained mentor for teachers.  Currently, I am serving as a Faculty Team Leader and CMS Chess Club Sponsor.

I am married with two teenage sons. In addition, I have a cairn terrier named Blitz.  In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family internationally where I can use my experiences abroad to enhance my teaching of history. I am also a dual citizen of the U.S. and Italy, an avid Florida State fan, and a good cook.
