I have been a professional educator since the 1980s and have taught in schools in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Georgia. Before moving to my current position as a Social Studies teacher at Chapin Middle School, I taught Language Arts at CMS and Dutch Fork Middle School.
I am certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. In addition to completing the national board certification, I have a Masters of Arts in Education from The Citadel, Bachelor of Science in Journalism from West Virginia University, and teaching certification from the University of Delaware.
My husband and I are the proud parents of three sons who are District Five graduates. When I am not teaching, I savor my free time relaxing with friends and family including two precious grandchildren, walking my dog, reading historic fiction, and traveling around the world. I also enjoy sharing my passion for South Carolina history with my students and anyone else who will listen to me!
