Band

The band is open by audition and is for students participating in band classes at the school.  Band classes meet during the school day.  There are, however, after-school rehearsals that are required before competitions.  The major events include the Winter Concert, PTSA Performances, Spring Show, and other state/region competitions.  Fundraising activities are planned to offset the cost of competitions and band activities.

April 10, 2016 ... Congratulations to the 8th grade band for receiving a Gold Star rating at the Southern Star Music Festival this past weekend!

March 23, 2016... Congratulations to the 8th Grade band for receiving Straight Superior ratings for stage and sight reading performance! In the band world it is called Superior with Distinction!

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE DFHS SILVER SPIRIT MARCHING BAND!

 

They won 1st Place in their division, Best Color Guard and Best Overall Visual Caption on October 17, 2015 at the Blythewood Tournament of Bands.  Twenty-five of the members are Dutch Fork Middle Students.  Those members are:
