Dear Students and Parents:
Welcome to my website. I teach Law Enforcement II at the Center for Advanced Technical Studies. This is my third year of teaching Law Enforcement full-time in the public school setting. I have a degree in Electrical Engineering technology from the San Juan City College in San Juan Puerto Rico. I moved to South Carolina in 1992 and worked for Verizon Wireless and Sprint as a Field Engineer until 2001.
In 2001, I was sworn in as a Deputy with the Richland County Sheriff Department and graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. While employed with the RCSD, I was assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division where I served as a Patrol Unit and later promoted to Field Training Officer. I left the RCSD in the Fall of 2013 to pursue a career in teaching with the Lexington Richland School District Five. Currently, in addition to teaching, I also continue to serve the residents of Richland County as a Reserve Deputy.
I enjoy teaching the specifics of Law Enforcement and truly enjoy watching my students gain a valued understanding of this career.
Sincerely,
Mr. Guirau
