Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Waring is the Special Education teacher at the Center. She works closely with the Special Education teachers at each of the high schools to ensure that students' instructional needs are met while attending the Center. Mrs. Waring earned her BA in Elementary Education from Grove City College in 1995 and her Master's in Special Education from Nazareth College in 1996. She worked in the field of special education in New York State for ten years prior to moving to South Carolina. Recently Mrs. Waring earned her National Board Certification in the area of Exceptional Needs. Mrs. Waring has worked at several Lex Rich 5 schools including Chapin Middle School, Dutch Fork High School and Irmo High School. Her favorite job assignment so far has been working at The Center! She loves the hands on, real life applications that students get to learn everyday!
Mrs. Waring has an assistant, Carol Elliott, that works with her. Ms. Elliott worked for many years as a job coach assistant at Irmo High School. She brings a broad knowledge base to the soft skills and technical skills necessary to be successful in the world of work.
