     Jesse Hutchinson, Principal





     I am so excited to have the opportunity to serve as Principal at Chapin Elementary School. Prior to my time at Chapin Elementary, I served as Principal at CrossRoads Intermediate School for 10 years and as Assistant Principal for Instruction for 8 years. My teaching experience includes 5 years at Busbee Middle School and 2 years at Newberry Middle School. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education - Social Sciences from Clemson University and a Master's Degree in Education Administration from the University of South Carolina. I truly love working in a school setting every day and am inspired by the hard work of our teachers, staff, and students. It is an honor to work in the Chapin community and serve the amazing people at Chapin Elementary School!   




  • Mrs. LaForce

     Dr. Margaret LaForce, Assistant Principal





    Dr. LaForce has been an administrator and teacher in District 5 for almost  twenty years. She taught first grade and was a lead reading teacher in District 5.  Prior to that, she taught grades k - 3 in North Carolina and Tennessee. Mrs. La  Force joined the Chapin Elementary administrative team in 2014. She joined  Chapin Elementary after serving at Lake Murray Elementary as Administrative  Assistant Principal. Mrs. La Force earned her MEd. from Milligan College in  Tennessee, and her MEd. in administration from the University of South Carolina. She attended Clemson University for specialized training in reading instruction. She has recently completed an Ed.D. in curriculum and instruction at Liberty  University. Mrs. La Force enjoys visiting her five grown children and ten grandchildren in various cities in Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina.   






    Kristilee Newton Prior to my time at CES, I served as AAP at Seven Oaks Elementary School for 3 years.  My teaching experience includes teaching at  risk 5K-2nd grade students for 8 years at Pair Education Center and teaching 5th grade at Springdale Elementary School for 3 years in  Lexington School District Two. I hold a bachelors degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Judson College in Marion, Alabama. I have earned a Masters Degree in Special Education and Educational Leadership from the University of South Carolina as well as a Masters in Divergent Learning from Columbia College.  Building lasting relationships with students, families and faculty members, working with students in need of effective/meaningful interventions, and implementing the practice of mindfulness are just some of the initiatives that fall heavy on my heart and mind.  My husband and I have four beautiful children. We are looking forward to being members of a school family that value the strength of a proud culture and take time to build dynamic relationships. I can not wait to see your smiling faces and hear your beautiful voices. I am looking forward to meeting each of you and growing as part of your CES family!
