Mr. Khaldoune Bencheikh

Khaldoune Bencheikh is a teaching artist with an educational experience ranging from K-12 to higher education. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art and has an international exhibition record. His work was shown in France, Holland, Morocco and Italy at the prestigious Biennial of Rome, 1999. Khaldoune is fluent in Arabic and French and also understands and speaks basic Spanish.

Khaldoune has a passion for mosaic public art. He is the founder of the "Reliquarium Garden", a community-based art project that promotes public mosaic art in underprivileged and underserved communities of South Carolina. In 2010, he worked with a group of homeless to create a 42 foot mosaic mural for a homeless shelter located on Main Street in Columbia, South Carolina. To learn more about Khaldoune's work, visit

Khaldoune is married and has a daughter. He enjoys cooking and listening to the purring sound of his cats and the heavy snoring of his dogs.
