Dr. Hardy is honored to serve as principal of Irmo High School International School for the Arts with its long-standing tradition of success in academics, the arts, and athletics. Her mission is to empower and engage the Irmo and District Five communities with an unwavering commitment to excellence.
A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Dr. Robin L. Hardy is a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, earning her Bachelor of Arts in English and her Master of Education degree in Educational Administration. She completed her Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2010. Dr. Hardy’s high school English teaching experiences include Camden, Ridge View, and Blythewood High Schools, respectively. Her leadership experiences include department chairperson, lead teacher, dean of academics, assistant principal, and for the past six years, principal. With opportunities afforded to her as a member of the Educational Testing Service (ETS)/Praxis Group School Superintendent National Advisory Committee, as a member of the executive board for the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA), as an alumna of the South Carolina Education Policy Fellowship Program (SC-EPFP), and as past president of South Carolina ASCD, she understands the necessity of influencing educational research, policy, and practice at the local, state, and national levels. In 2017-2018, she was named the South Carolina Council of Teachers of English (SCCTE) Outstanding Administrator after being nominated by one of her former high school English teachers.
