This has been an exciting summer for me. I got married on June 22nd and I am starting a new chapter in my teaching career at Chapin Elementary. I am so excited to be starting my 17th year here at Chapin Elementary. I can't wait to see everyone and learn beside my students!
This summer I had the priveledge of marrying Kim O'Leary-Woodward. I am the proud parent of Ava (9 years old) and Emmy (6 years old). I am now the proud step dad to Lilly Margaret (13 years old), Eleanor (12 years old), and Bradley (10 years old).
I am originally from Irmo, South Carolina. I went to Dutch Fork, Irmo, and Nursery Road Elementary Schools. I graduated from Dutch Fork High School, where I played soccer, basketball, and football. I went on to Spartanburg Methodist to play soccer. Later, I transferred to Clemson University where I earned my degree in elementary education. I would later get my masters degree, in education, from Southern Wesleyan University.
This will be my 17th year teaching. My first year was in Lexington District 4 at Sandhills Intermediate, teaching 6th grade (Science and Social Studies). I then went to teach at River Springs for 13 years (3rd and 4th), and for the past two years I taugh at Irmo Middle (6th grade honors math and science).
I was the head coach of the boys varsity soccer team at Dutch Fork High School for 8 years. I stepped down in 2014 year to spend more time with my girls as they entered elementary school.
