    Policies

    How to Visit the Library:
Get a blue pass signed by your study hall or classroom teacher.  Your teacher may send as many as 5 students during a block, but EACH STUDENT needs to have an individual pass.  Sign in at the Circulation Desk, stamp and leave your pass in the basket on the desk, and begin working.

Students may visit the library before and after school and during their Enrichment period without a pass.

Students may also visit the library during their lunch block on MAST days.  All students must sign in and out during each visit.

    Checkout procedures:
You must have your current school ID to check out a book.

You will NOT be allowed to check out materials if you owe $3 or more to the library.

Students may check out as many as three print books and 2 ebooks at a time. Print books are checked out for three (3) weeks, and may be renewed by a library staff member for an additional three week period. Penalties for excessive late returns may be administered. Library staff is available to help you with your resource needs, so please see one of us for any special need!

Students are responsible for monitoring due dates for all borrowed items.  Due dates are stamped in back of all books when checked out. Ebooks return themselves at the end of the three week checkout period, but may also be checked in early through Destiny Discover!

    Lost or Damaged Materials:
Fines for materials, lost or damaged beyond use, will include the replacement cost of the item(s). Charges for damaged materials will be determined by the library staff depending on the nature and severity of the damages.

    Color Printing:
To print in color, send or share your work with a Library staff member and retrieve at the circulation desk.

    Behavior in the Media Center:
We aRe Chapin behavior expectations cover library behavior expectations. Behavior should allow for study and shared use of space by all patrons. Any student behaving in a disruptive manner will be asked to report back to his/her class of origin. In such cases, library staff will notify the teacher of policy violations. During Enrichment any behavior deemed disruptive by library staff may result in eviction.

    Computer Usage Policies:
Library Media Center computers are available for use to students working on school-related research and assignments. Any other use is strictly prohibited. For specific information, please refer to the Acceptable Use Agreement available on the iFive Project Site.

Please be aware that computer use is not private and is subject to physical and/or electronic monitoring.
