Where Children Are Cherished And Challenged
Degrees and Certifications:
I have worked in public education at the middle school, high school, and university levels for close to 20 years. I started my career as a teacher, worked for the Office of Student Disability Services at the University of South Carolina, and worked as high school counselor in North Charleston, SC. I feel very fortunate to work at CrossRoads Intermediate School! I grew up in the area and graduated from Irmo High School. I received an Educational Specialist degree in Counselor Education from the University of South Carolina in May 2007. I am certified as a School Counselor for k-12. I am a National Board Certified Teacher in School Counseling, Licensed Professional Counselor, and I have also earned my GCDF as a Career Development Facilitator. I love working with sixth grade students; it is such a transitional time for children. I believe in having a comprehensive school counseling program in place which is based on the American School Counseling Association model and mindsets. It is my goal to fully implement a program that is preventative in nature and meets the needs of the students and families of our unique population where “children are cherished and challenged.”
My office hours are Monday-Friday 7:30-3:30
